One of the top priorities for the Tigers in 2013 will be defensive tackles. Coach Brooks has the Tigers in good shape early with future 4-star Herbert Moore from Memphis. The 6-1, 335 pound run stopper just got his offer from Clemson.
“I got an offer from Clemson. I have been talking a lot with coach Brooks. He is a good defensive line coach. I read a lot about his history. He has put a lot of guys in the NFL,” said Moore.
The offer list is growing quickly for the Tennessee standout.
“I also have offers from North Carolina, Vanderbilt and Illinois. I am also hearing from Ole Miss and Kentucky,” said Moore.
Are any Junior Day visits in the plans?
“I am going to try to go to Ole Miss. I am going to try to get to as many as I can,” said Moore.
Herbert has been recovering from an injury he suffered last fall.
“I got injured in October. I got hit in the ankle. I didn’t break anything but hurt some ligaments. My rehab is going good. I should be walking next Thursday,” said Moore.
When asked about his current leaders, Moore responded, “Clemson and North Carolina are in front”.
What does the prize recruit like about the Tigers?
“Clemson is a great place for defensive linemen. They have great tradition over there,” replied Moore.
Herbert plans to check out the Tigers later this year.
“I am going to go there some time over the summer,” said Moore.
Don’t expect an early commitment from the top defender.
“I am going to keep my decision until signing day,” said Moore.
