Future Clemson defensive end Shaq Lawson will get a visit from head coach Dabo Swinney and Brent Venables on Friday.
“Coach Swinney and coach Venables are coming for a visit on Friday,” said Lawson.
The prize recruit had a chance to meet new defensive coordinator Brent Venables the first weekend he was on campus.
“I met him the weekend he interviewed for the job. I haven’t seen him since that weekend. I look forward to getting to know him better,” said Lawson.
How does Shaq feel about the hiring of coach Venables?
“It was a good hire. He is the right man for the job. I watched his defense at Oklahoma and they always brought a lot of pressure and blitzed a lot,” said Lawson.
The talented athlete is helping Daniel on the court as they compete for a state championship.
“It is going good. We are 17-3 right now and No. 4 in the state. I am averaging 13 points and ten rebounds,” said Lawson.
On Wednesday the top defensive end will sign with the Clemson during a ceremony at school.
“I am going to be signing at the school. We will have a ceremony in the gym,” said Lawson.
How does Shaq feel about signing with the Tigers in just a few days?
“I am ready to get it over with and make it official,” said Lawson.
The Daniel standout hopes to see the field as a freshman.
“I think I have a good shot. They are losing two defensive ends and we have two coming in. I have a feeling both of us could play this year,” said Lawson.
