“Great Pitch” Impresses 5-star LB Hughes

5-star linebacker Travis Hughes made the trip from Virginia Beach, VA to Clemson on South Carolina.  The Clemson staff rolled out the orange carpet for the top linebacker.

Shorlty after leaving campus, Travis and his father Tony met exclusively with TheClemsonInsider.com to discuss the visit.  Clemson made a big impression on that on top linebacker and have moved up on his leader board.

Tony Hughes coached both Tajh and T.J. Boyd and the families are very close.  Tony said having the Boyd family at Clemson is a “big plus” for the Tigers.

Tajh, T.J. and Travis have been close since they played Pop Warner football together.

Did the visit help the Tigers chances?

“Yes, coach Steele made a big impact.  I always knew once I visited Clemson that they could affect my list.  Coach Steele did a great job today with me and my father.  They definitely moved up my list,” said Travis.

A decision is likely during his senior season.  The Tigers are now a lock for an official visit.  LSU and Michigan are other candidates for an official visit.

I hope he comes to the Maryland game so he can see how we do things in Tiger Town.
